キノコは大きく分けて2通りの栄養の取り方があり、「腐生菌（ふせいきん）」と「菌根菌（きんこんきん）」に分かれます。腐生菌は植物や動物の死骸などの有機物を分解し、栄養を取り込みます。菌根菌は菌糸から得た栄養を他の植物に与え、代わりに植物は光合成で得た栄養を菌と分け合う共生関係を築きます。テクノロジーと菌根菌の共生、宿主としての権利の奪い合い、それらの曖昧な関係を絵にしました。

Mushrooms can be broadly divided into two nutritional types: saprotrophic fungi and mycorrhizal fungi. Saprotrophic fungi decompose organic matter such as dead plants and animals to absorb nutrients. Mycorrhizal fungi, on the other hand, form symbiotic relationships—offering nutrients they gather through their mycelium to host plants, while receiving sugars produced through photosynthesis in return. This piece explores the blurred boundaries between technology and mycorrhizal symbiosis—a complex entanglement of coexistence, control, and the competition for the rights of the host.
